About Us
General Description
The University of Connecticut's Quantitative Learning Center (Q Center)
is a resource to elevate the proficiency of students taking
quantitative intensive (Q) courses across the undergraduate curriculum.
We provide direct assistance to students via peer tutoring, review sessions,
and the creation of innovative learning tools. We assist Q faculty to
incorporate best practices in their teaching, and serve as a
clearinghouse for information about Q resources and discussion of Q
issues within the university.
We are one of eight units of the Institute for Teaching and
Learning (ITL) that provide support for students and faculty.
People
The Q Center staff includes Tom Roby, Director and Associate Professor of Mathematics, Alvaro Lozano-Robledo, Associate Director and Assistant Professor of Mathematics, and Marc Corluy, Assistant Director and APIR (Dept. of Mathematics) and Diane Briody, Program Assistant as well as 10 graduate TAs, and 80 undergraduate peer tutors.
Main Activities
During the academic year, our main activities include:

on the first floor of the Homer Babbage Library.
- Review sessions for students in highly populated Q courses.
