University of Connecticut
Quantitative Learning Center
Services for Instructors

  • Instructors are encouraged to utilize the Q Center to assist them with the quantitative portions of their classes.
  • Workshops can be scheduled to supplement specific material and will be administered by the Q Center staff.
  • Exam Reviews can also be scheduled; the instructor should make up a sample exam with solutions and suggest a time which the majority of students can make.
  • Other services we offer include free tutoring either in small groups or one on one, and tutorials where students can use Q Center material to learn individually at their own pace.
  • In the interest of improving learning, workshops are also available for tutor training. Future workshops will address math anxiety, text anxiety, diverse learning styles and problem-solving techniques.
  • For advisors, the goal of the Q Center is to gather data from current placement methods for Q Courses and track student progress in an effort to create better placement vehicles. This goal is to continually improve the process of advising incoming students.
